Things to do in Broome

Broome is a truly amazing place to visit! Your days can be filled with as much or as little as you like. Whatever your holiday style is, we certainly recommend doing a few tours because it really does add the ‘wow’ factor to your Broome holiday and there are so many great activities and tours on offer.  From land, sea and air adventures – there’s literally something for everyone!

Joining a local broome tour provides greater insight into the town’s history, natural environment and local culture. And if you’ve ever heard the locals quip ‘We live by the tides in Broome.’ We do. Many of the iconic activities, especially those involving the beach or water, require optimum tide levels to succeed.

And, let’s not forget the famous Staircase to the Moon phenomenon. The Staircase to the Moon happens 2 – 3 days a month between March and October. Many visitors plan their trip to Broome to coincide with this unique event where the full moon rises over the low tide exposed mud flats of Roebuck Bay.

Here at AOC, we’re passionate about ensuring all guests to Broome have a wonderful time and enjoy learning about our unique natural environment.

We’ve provided below, the key web link for Broome’s tide charts and staircase to the moon dates and times. Plus, the added inclusion of when is best to visit the Dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point and the Flying Boat Wrecks from WWII in Roebuck Bay.

Please visit the Broome Visitor Centre for all the details on the Broome tide times, staircase dates and other unique facts.
